How do enter the match?

You can enter the match by purchasing your entry spot in the online store.

Do I receive a physical ticket?

No. By purchasing a entry ticket from the store you are securing your spot on the match. If the remaining entry balance isn't paid by the due date you spot gets released to the next person.

Why is the deposit so high?

The deposit you pay at time of purchasing entry is 50% of the total entry fee for 2 anglers. The total entry fee covers the lake fees and each anglers meal package provided by the lake.

Is the deposit refunded if i can't take part?

No. The entry fee deposit is non refundable. If you can no longer fish the match your deposit in it's entirety gets donated to Cancer Research UK. The new pair will have to pay the entry fee in full to take part.

What happens if my fishing partner pulls out?

If your partner can no longer fish the match then there are a couple of options available to you.
You can choose to fish the match alone with 3 rods in which case you would be responsible for the entire entry fee as a pair, or you can ask someone else to fish with you instead and they would be responsible for half the entire entry fee.
Your previous partners half of the entry fee would be donated to Cancer Research Uk.

How long do i have to pay the remaining balance?

The deposit is payable at time of purchase and the remaining balance would be due a few months before the match takes place. For the 2026 match the remaining balance would be due by 30th September 2025.

What if i want to take part but have difficultly with finances?

If you want to take part or have signed up and have difficulty meeting the payment deadlines, then get hold of us and we will help in whatever way we can.

Can i help in other ways?

If you don't fish or can't fish due to no spaces, you can help by either being a marshal for the match in which case you would need to be available all weekend, or you could assist on the Saturday with the other events happening.

What else will be happening at the match?

During the Saturday of the event there will be an auction, Raffle & Tombola. As well as these there will also be a bottle tombola, and selection of cakes & merchandise for sale. All the profits from the above go to Cancer Research UK.
We are also hoping to have a face painter at the event.

How do i donate?

You can donate via the link on the donation page or directly through the link on the Facebook and Instagram pages.
You can also donate at the event there will be buckets around for loose change etc.

Can my family come to support me?

Yes. The more the merrier. Feel free to invite your friends and family down to show there support. They can visit anytime during the match but the Saturday afternoon during the social they would be able to take part in the games etc as well as spend some time with you.

What facilities are at the lake?

The lake has a tackle shop, cafe/Takeaway on site as well as toilets by the shop.

What payment methods do you accept?

At the event we would prefer cash to take part in the games and raffles etc but we can also accept paypal and bank transfers using the name of the game your taking part in as the reference. We are now also able to accept card and contactless payments.

The match has sold out, how do I take part?

If unfortunately you miss out on securing a spot on the match you can contact us with your details to be placed on a reserve list. If anybody pulls out of the match for what ever reason, the space will be offered to Anglers waiting on the reserve list in the order of their placement on that list. You can also volunteer to be a Marshal at the match.

What do the Marshal have to do?

The responsibility of the Marshal's is to verify the fish capture and weight of any fish caught on the bank they are responsible for. The Marshal's need to be available for the whole weekend from the start to finish of the match. They verify the scales are zero'ed before weighing the fish, verify the weight and sign the weigh sheet, take a pic of the fish with the angler and peg number and make sure the fish is returned safely to the lake.
The Marshal's get the same meal deal as the Anglers taking part and don't have to pay anything to take part in the match.

Can i donate prizes to the event?

Yes you can.
We are happy to accept donations towards the raffles, tombolas and auction.
Anything for the auction has to be received by 25th March so it can be added to the auction booklet. Anything else can be accepted up until a couple of days before the match
